The next group Street King, aka Steve Nathanson, joined was Lonnie & the Carollans, whose 1956 "Chapel of Tears" (on the Mohawk label) went Top Ten and was frequently featured on the Alan Freed radio show. Nathanson then decided to drop out before it was In and took a two year sabattical, touring such exotic places as Morocco and the Sudan. "It's such a completely different culture ...the Atlas Mountains and the Ourika Valley are too beautifuI to be on earth. Returning to New York, Nathanson was anxious to get back into the music business and joined United Artists Records in the publishing department recording demos. From the publishing dept he moved over to the A & R department where he became involved with a number of musicians who were later to record as King Harvest and Orleans.
